Love a timeless classic.

Close followers of Meghan Markle’s style (yes, hello, that’s us) will have noticed she’s working on a couple of trademarks in her capacity as Prince Harry of Britain’s fiancée.

The Suits star, who’s set to wed Prince Harry on May 19, has an excellent line in coats and in outfits with a modern, utilitarian feel.

The latest piece we’re keen to copy from Markle ticks both those boxes.

At the United Kingdom Invictus team trials in Bath, England, Markle wore a modern, minimal trench coat in a very cool khaki colour. Paired with black jeans and an Invictus polo shirt, Markle looked pulled together and unfussy – just right for the outdoor event.

Somewhere like Dubai, where you really only need a coat for travel, you could do a lot worse than something like this. That colour goes with just about everything, but isn’t black, and the cut won’t date. It’s a winner.

Markle’s coat is from Canadian brand Babaton, and it’s still on fashion site Aritzia for $245 (Dhs899). They’ll even ship it here to the UAE for free.

Here’s how they’ve styled it:

Good, right? It’s pretty hard to imagine somewhere that outfit wouldn’t take you.

Of course, if you’re thinking you’ve heard Markle’s name and the Invictus Games in the same sentence before, you’re quite correct.

Markle and Prince Harry made their first official appearance together at last year’s event in September, held in Toronto.

On that occasion, Markle went for an easy white shirt from her good friend Misha Nonoo’s label.
