Of all the couples we think will go this distance, this pair stand a real chance – namely because this man flew 5,600 kilometres in secret, just to propose to his sweetheart.
Ben Moss, a mechanic from Solihull in the UK, had been planning to pop the question to his partner, Abbie Parker, later this year. However, when she revealed she was off to the UAE to visit a friend, inspiration struck.
The day after she departed for the Middle East, Moss secretly followed in his partner’s tracks and hid out in a hotel room for three days, waiting for the perfect moment to propose.
With the help of Parker’s pals, who made sure the unsuspecting bride-to-be didn’t cross paths with her boyfriend, Moss was able to plan the biggest surprise amid Dubai’s sandy climes – very much like how actress Eva Longoria’s now husband popped the question.
He even took pictures of the couple’s cat, and used them to make his girlfriend think he was still back in Britain.

Parker was on a desert safari with two friends when Moss, who had been following their 4WD in convoy, emerged among the dunes and got down on one knee.
“Abbie’s face was quite a picture. She looked shocked and then broke down in tears. She just couldn’t believe it,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I go over the top with a lot of things, so it wouldn’t have been right to just book a table somewhere.”
Parker was suitably shocked, though she instantly said yes.
“Looking back I think he was trying to put me off, and I just thought I was on a girlie holiday,” she said. “It was just lovely.”
