The new docu-series is a tool for Lindsay to shed away the image of her past. She is no longer a troubled actress, but an entrepreneur who wants to be her own boss, as she announces in the first episode of the show. We follow the 32-year-old and her business partner, Panos Spentzos as they launch her third establishment in Greece, Lohan Beach House.

However, the first episode tackles some sadder issues, as Lindsay reveals the reason behind opening the club. Midway through the the hour-long docu-series, Lindsay reminds Panos that they have known each other since “I was hit on that beach.” She was referring to an incident that occurred with her ex-fiancé Egor Tarabasov, who was documented abusing her back in 2016 in two videos.

Panos turned to the camera as they discussed the altercation, saying “Three years ago, Lindsay was there on that beach with her ex-boyfriend. She got hit by him.”

“I was in a very tumultuous relationship. I was in a different place in my life,” the former child actress explained. “Instead of crying or getting angry, I said, ‘I’m gonna own this beach one day.’ Because I always want everyone to feel safe.”

We also got to watch a more serious side to Lindsay, as she takes up the role of a strict boss, who wouldn’t allow for anyone to get in the way of her career. It is clear that she does not approve of the VIP hosts, that they recruited from America, to attempt to use her name for fame. “I don’t have time for people making their own intentions on working with me. Being in the public eye, people all the time take from me. And it’s hard.”

Being used for fame is one of the things that pushed Lindsay to relocate to Dubai. During the episode’s after-show, she discussed the move, saying, “I moved to Dubai because it’s illegal to take photos of people without their knowledge. That’s really important to me.”

The docu-series is off to a good start as the debut is one of the top five new cable shows of 2018-19. Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club airs Tuesdays on MTV.
