They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
Ever since shooting to fame, Kim Kardashian has always made heads turn with her fashion choices. From form-fitting, to sheer ensembles, the reality TV star is a fan of giving people something to talk about. However, these past few months, we have witnessed a new style evolution from the 38-year-old, as she has shed her minimalist outfits in favour of vintage looks from the nineties.
Seeing as how Naomi Campbell was the queen of the nineties, thanks to her iconic and fierce style, it comes as no surprise that people are comparing Kim’s fashion choices to the supermodel. But, it’s more than just that – people on the internet believe that Kim’s style is not inspired by her uniqueness, and we have to say that evidence is very convincing.
As they say, ‘once is an accident, twice is coincidence, three times is a pattern.’ Yesterday, infamous Instagram account Diet Prada, called out Kim in front of her 1.2 million followers. Here are five times that the reality star wore the same looks that Naomi rocked in the nineties.
The most recent look, is the purple, blue and green Versace satin slip dress, that Kim wore to Chance the Rapper’s wedding this week. Naomi wore this same look on the runway, back in 1996.

Last week, Kim posted several photos on her social media of an Instagram photoshoot where she wore two Azzedine Alaïa vintage ensembles. For the first look, she was covered from head to toe in a fierce leopard print. The catsuit, matching coat, gloves and high-heeled boots were all from Alaïa’s famous Fall 1991 collection. For her second look, she wore a sheer black risqué catsuit that was originally modelled by Naomi Campbell for Alaïa in the early nineties.

The other three looks are also Versace. In December, the mother of three (soon to be four) wore a silver metallic gown from Versace’s 1998 collection, when she attended the premiere of The Cher Show on Broadway. Naomi previously strutted down the runway in this dress back in 1998 and then again for a red-carpet event in 2015.
And who could forget the sparkling mini-dress with a plunging neckline, that both women dazzled in. Naomi wore the look first back in 1997, then Kim followed 21-years later, when she wore the dress at the Versace’s runway show in 2018.
The last look on this list comes courtesy of Kim’s post MET Gala dress last year. On the red-carpet, the makeup mogul wore a custom form-fitting gold dress from Versace, so it only seemed right for her to wear a dress from the Italian fashion house post-gala. She wore a body-hugging leather dress, with a bondage inspired caged corset. Naomi also wore this mini-dress in 2014 during her show The Face.
All this evidence aside, if we are being honest, who wouldn’t want to imitate Naomi Campbell when rocking nineties fashion. Also, both Kim and Naomi rocked all looks – we could only dream of looking this fierce.
