Jennifer Aniston married Justin Theroux last night in a surprise ceremony at the couple’s Bel Air home.
According to reports, guests including Ellen DeGeneres, Chelsea Handler and Lisa Kudrow arrived for what they thought was a 44th birthday party for Justin, but turned out to be an intimate backyard wedding as Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux get married.
US gossip site TMZ first reported on a “wedding-ish” cake being delivered to the mansion, and a pastor carrying a Bible was also spotted walking into the house.
Wedding rumours have swirled around this couple ever since actor and screenwriter Justin asked Jen to marry him in August 2012. But it seems the private pair eventually managed to keep their big day low key and pap-free – even keeping the details from guests until the last possible moment.
Despite the star-packed guest list, the wedding appears to have been a non-flashy affair: the backyard venue, the light-hearted touches (a Muppet-themed cake topper was spotted on its way to the ceremony) – it all sounds perfectly fitting for our fave girl-next-door.
We don’t blame Jen for keeping things under wraps, but we’re secretly hoping to see at least one snap of the dress. We’re also hoping this finally spells the end of all those “unlucky in love” insinuations in articles about Jennifer Aniston – although she has always dealt with it in style, by gracefully getting on with being one of the most successful, beautiful and highly-paid actresses in Hollywood.
The couple started dating in 2011, after meeting on the set of the movie Wanderlust. Justin Theroux, who writes and directs as well as acts, is currently starring in the HBO series The Leftovers. Meanwhile, his new wife Jennifer is currently shooting comedy She’s Funny That Way, in which she plays a “therapist from hell”.
Here’s hoping the lovely newlyweds have made time in their hectic schedules for a nice long honeymoon!
