The Emirates Woman cover star gives her fans a brief health update as she prepares to welcome her first child.

She famously revealed in our exclusive interview that she’s incredibly shy – and she’s withdrawn from the public eye since revealing this year that she’s expecting her first child.

However Janet Jackson has just broken her social media silence to reassure fans that she’s in good health as she draws closer to her due date.

The pop star, who is expecting a baby with her Qatari husband Wissam Al Mana, posted her first tweet since confirming her pregnancy last month – and ended it in Arabic.

“”Hey you guys.. It’s been awhile.. but I’m still listening.. I feel your love and prayers.. Thank you.. and I’m doing well.. Al Hamdu lillah,” she wrote, signing off her message with the Arabic phrase for “praise be to God”.

The 50-year-old first revealed plans to expand her family in April after she was forced to postpone her Unbreakable tour on medical advice.

“My husband and I are planning our family,” the All For You singer said in a Twitter video. “So I’m going to have to delay the tour.

“Please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders! But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Jackson, who is rumoured to have converted to Islam, tied the knot with businessman Al Mana – who manages a Middle Eastern empire of 55 companies involving fashion, media, engineering and real estate – in 2012.

The couple live in Dubai, which is where they met in 2010, but it is not known if that is where Jackson intends to give birth.

While a due date for their first child has not been confirmed, it’s rumoured to be within the next few weeks, and Jackson is on bed rest in the meantime according to the Daily Mail.

“She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” the star’s older brother, Jermaine Jackson, told the newspaper.

We’ll keep you up to date when the parents-to-be welcome their new arrival.
