There’s little doubt that the Middle East punches above its weight when it comes to fashion. Designers from our region are all always over the red carpet, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
With that in mind, we thought we’d check in our local faves and see who they’ve been dressing lately.

We picked this jacket as a standout when we saw it on the fall/winter runway, and here, Lady Gaga is making it look incredible. Now, if Dubai would just cool down enough that we could vaguely justify outerwear…
Now this is a bit more like it. Jessica Alba and Beyonce are both seen here in a pair of gold-plated Elie Saab sunnies that have just shot to the top of our shopping list. Sure, they’re Dhs3,740, but good eyewear is a year-round necessity here in the UAE.
ZUHAIR MURARD
Joan Smalls is often seen in Middle Eastern designers, and this Zuhair Murad number is another winner. Heaps of drama.
How’s this for a statement dress? Chinese singer and actress Stephy Qi graced the Venice Film festival red carpet in another super-glam Murad design. Can’t go past a train.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate that Jennifer Lopez is 48 years of age, and looks like this. Incredible. With that taken care of, how gorgeous is her on-stage look from Lebanese designer Nicholas Jerban? True star power.
