The reality TV star revealed the British singer is “like a son” to her.
They’ve been going strong for two years now so, like any stars in the public eye, speculation has started to swirl around whether Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik will soon make it official.
The half-Palestinian supermodel and British popstar, who met in 2015, are one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples, and regularly share snippets of their life together on social media.
However, when quizzed on whether the 22-year-old model and 25-year-old singer, who is a practicing Muslim, will tie the knot, Gigi’s mum is keeping tight-lipped.
“We’ll see, I truly believe they’re all on their own journey. It’s not in my hands anymore so I’m just sitting back and letting it all unfold,” Yolanda Hadid told the Daily Mail this week.
“This is their journey and I’m just here to support both of them as long as they make each other happy, working through things then I’m happy.”
The mum-of-three, all of whose children work in the modelling industry, also revealed that she had a close connection with Malik, who’s originally from Bradford in the UK.
“He’s from the same background that I’m from, him and I get along great and he’s like a son to me,” Yolanda added.
“He has no family here and he’s so far away so I understand that life because I lived that life. I think that I’m just a momma to him.”
Malik is regularly pictured with the Hadid family, and even celebrated Eid with them earlier this year.
