Another one of New York’s most iconic foodie hotspots has decided to venture into the Middle East, with Black Tap announcing that it will be opening its first branch in Dubai this December at the Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel.
Known for their utterly over-the-top milkshakes, Black Tap has attracted many a famous face over the years – including the likes of Ashley Benson of Pretty Little Liars, The Weeknd, Joe Jonas and Nicky Hilton.
Food and drink-wise, Black Tap is a concept based around craft burgers and craft beverages – with Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori behind the venue’s menu.
As far as décor goes, expect an American diner feel with a modern twist.

Back to the milkshakes though… If you’ve got a sweet tooth, prepare yourself.
Yes, that is a candy floss milkshake on the right, and it looks delicious.
They also stack up at around 1,500 calories each, so make sure to go to Black Tap on a cheat day.
If sugar-laced drinks aren’t your thing, then the burgers look pretty yummy, too.
Black Tap, which opens in December, isn’t the only American restaurant heading to Dubai, here’s another (opening dates yet to be announced):
Toro
Bostonian Spanish spot Toro – who’re looking to expand Dubai’s tapas scene. The dishes are classically Spanish, with a focus on using sustainable and locally-sourced ingredients.
The Inventing Room
Willy Wonka-esque, The Inventing Room has already made an appearance at the Dubai Food Festival with popular dry-ice dessert creations.
Wahlburgers
Marky Mark aka Mark Wahlburg’s family burger joint Wahlburgers announced their plans to expand to the Middle East last year, so a Dubai venue is likely. The venue is already so famous it has its own reality show.
Big Mama’s & Papa’s
Remember the 2014 Oscars? When Ellen ordered pizza for everyone? Well that pizza came straight from Californian pizzeria Big Mama’s and Papa’s. They announced their plans to move into the emirate back in January 2015, but there have since been no further announcements.
