British heritage with a touch of punk

This week, Vivienne Westwood and Burberry unveiled the campaign for their much awaited collaboration, which was shot in the British capital by fashion photographer David Sims. The line is a limited-edition endeavour between Burberry’s creative director Riccardo Tisci, Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler.

The project was first announced back in July 2018 by Burberry, through a portrait on Instagram of Riccardo, Vivienne and Andreas. The collection is made up of pieces celebrating and reimagining British heritage with a touch of punk inspired by Vivienne, taking a unisex approach across styles. Some of the biggest names in the modelling world were involved in the campaign, including supermodel Kate Moss.

Inside look at Burberry And Vivienne Westwood Collaboration

The line includes iconic designs from Vivienne Westwood like classic double-breasted jackets and a hugger jacket – all of which are of course in Burberry’s trademark print. The collection also includes a meaningful piece – an oversized Cool Earth T-shirt with a handwritten message from Vivienne, which will be dedicated to charity.

Cool Earth is a UK based non-profit organisation, that is combating climate change and trying to slow it down by working alongside rainforest communities, which is a cause that both Vivienne Westwood and Riccardo Tisci support. Four exclusive items from the collection will be auctioned off to further support the NGO.

This collaboration is Burberry’s first under Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci, who was appointed in March 2018, and is now available online and in select Burberry stores globally.
