Seeing the Jordanian royal in a Bambah dress was a “lovely surprise” for the label’s founder, Maha Abdul Rasheed.
We’re on a perpetual mission to emulate HM Queen Rania al Abdullah, one of the world’s most elegant royals.
So we were delighted to discover this week that stealing her style is even easier than usual—we just need to get down to one local boutique.

The Jordanian royal gave a nod to her host nation as she touched down in the UAE for an official visit on Wednesday, donning an ensemble by Dubai-based label Bambah.
Her Majesty wore a purple lace crochet skirt (Dhs1,550) and lace crochet bell tunic (Dhs1,850) by the boutique—and no one was more overjoyed to see the royal pay tribute to a local brand than Bambah’s founder, Maha Abdul Rasheed.
“It was a lovely surprise! I didn’t know it was happening yesterday,” the entrepreneur told EmiratesWoman.com.
“We got in touch with her team a few months ago but we never knew it was happening on such an important and iconic official visit to our hometown—which makes it even more special.”
Bambah, which has a store in City Walk and is also available online, is no stranger to dressing famous faces, having been worn by everyone from Amal Clooney and Aishwarya Rai to Priyanka Chopra.
However dressing the Jordanian royal is particularly significant for Rasheed, who revealed Queen Rania has “always been an idol for me”.
“I can’t even explain how happy this makes me feel,” she said. “I always look up to her as a strong, confident, stylish woman.
“Seeing her in one of my designs means the world to me! I had to do a double take.”
Bambah began life as a vintage clothing boutique in Dubai, before launching its own 1950s-inspired line of clothing, which is renowned for boasting ultra-feminine fabric, bold prints and refined silhouettes.
Rasheed, who described herself as “over the moon”, revealed Queen Rania had even been the inspiration for Bambah’s modest line.

“It would be a pleasure to see her in some of the designs from that collection which will help show the world how elegant modest clothing can be,” she added.
Bambah is also stocked at Farfetch, Ounass, and Harvey Nichols stores in Dubai, Kuwait and Riyadh.
We’re running down there now to snap up Queen Rania’s outfit before it sells out…
