We’re always taking our cues from her, to be honest.

While of course she was originally from Jordan, HRH Princess Haya bint Hussein has really made Dubai her own.

Ideally, we’d sit down over a lemon & mint and chat with the princess about her favourite spots around town. Until then, we’ll have to make some educated guesses based on her social media.

Read on for our ideas on how to do Dubai like Princess Haya.

Our top picks: 6 things to do in the UAE this weekend

Get up high

One thing is clear: Princess Haya loves a good view. Time to grab an Uber Chopper for a quick tour of the city, perhaps?

Seriously, though, Dubai isn’t short of helicopter tour operators. Expect to pay about Dhs1,000 per person for a 20-minute scenic flight.

Celebrate the new Dubai

When the Burj Khalifa was finished in 2008, Princess Haya had already been married to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for four years.

And like most of us, it seems she’s a big fan. Downtown Dubai is extremely photogenic, so if you’re living that Princess Haya lifestyle, get yourself to a vantage point and take a pic or two.

Get into the great outdoors

Equally, though, HRH loves a bit of time in the desert, as the above photo shows. Whether or not you’ve got a falcon of your very own, a bit of time out in the wild will do you good.

And hey, it won’t be cool enough for much longer. Act now.

Catch up with a famous pal or two

We might not all be lucky enough to have activist actress Jane Seymour on WhatsApp, but we can dream.

When Seymour was in town in January, she and Princess Haya chatted about their humanitarian work and turning “adversity into opporunity.”

We can imagine the Oxford-educated princess had some thought-provoking ideas.

Spend some time on horseback

Like most of her family, Princess Haya is a keen equestrian. She’s competed internationally for Jordan in the past, so we’re thinking a typical weekend would include some time at the stables.

Stay close to home

One stand-out theme of Princess Haya’s Instagram? She loves spending time with her nearest and dearest.

So for a truly royal-approved weekend, make plans with the family. It’s what Princess Haya would do.
