HH Sheikh Mohammed and HRH Princess Haya showed incredible support
After a series of earthquakes struck the Indonesian island of Lombok earlier this month, Dubai’s International Humanitarian City stepped in to send a shipment of relief supplies to Indonesia.
91 tonnes of toolkit, tarpaulins and blankets were transported the island, which were provided by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum helped make the airlift possible.

This isn’t the first time the royals have stepped in to do charitable deeds. Sheikh Mohammed donated his plane to send aid to Papa New Guinea in April after the country was hit by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in February.
HRH Princess Haya shared the news on her Instagram account:
“With the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the International Humanitarian City facilitated an airlift of much-needed relief items from Dubai to Indonesia yesterday evening,” she said.
Last year, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashad donated Dhs 830, 000 worth of aid to displaced Rohingya Muslim refugees in Bangladesh, who fled persecution from Mynamar.
Two emergency flights, one sponsored by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and the other by the UNCHR, carried emergency relief for 25, 000 refugees. It carried 91 tonnes of aid, including blankets and sleeping mats.
In November, HH Sheikh Mohammed was awarded Order of the Mother of the Nation for his philanthropic work.
