“Our Emirati culture promotes the spirit of love, tolerance, and calls for openness…”
You can’t move forward without knowing where you’ve come from, and no one understand that better than HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

On Monday at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed launched the UAE Cultural Development Fund. Overseen by the Ministry of Knowledge and Culture Development, the fund will support people and organisations who are promoting the UAE’s heritage and language.
“Our culture represents the identity of our generations, and reflects the depth of our history,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
“It is our message that we want to convey to the world in the most creative way. Our Emirati culture promotes the spirit of love, tolerance, and calls for openness to other cultures.”
His Highness spoke to the importance of language in carrying the past and present into the future.

Taking a holistic approach was key, Sheikh Mohammed said. Making the Emirati culture a priority was important for any number of reasons.
“UAE’s drive towards leadership of the future, and its pursuit to be among the most advanced countries in the world won’t be realized unless we enhance our cultural heritage. The future of our cultural development should be based on creativity and innovation,” he said.
“Economy, culture and politics are components that interact to create a nation, and build a state… The development of our country depends on a well-established and forward-looking culture.”
Wise words from a leader who’s full of them, if you ask us.
