Unlike traditional hairdryers, the new Dyson Supersonic™ 23.75 karat gold hair dryer helps to protect hair from extreme heat damage. Each dryer contains a glass bead thermistor and microprocessor which control the exit air temperature at a rate of 20 times per second, to ensure that hair remains undamaged.
Quicker drying and styling
Hair is up to 80% weaker when wet, which is why its essential to keep drying time to a minimum. Dyson combat this issue by using their Air Multiplier technology (fans of Dyson’s home products may recognise this – it’s the same technology developed for Dyson’s purifying fans and humidifiers). When applied to their hairdryer range, the technology creates a jet of air that exits and creates a pressure loop. Air is draw in to the motor, creating a high pressure jet of air for quicker drying and styling – all without damaging hair.
A plethora of options
The new Dyson Supersonic has a far ranging number of options, which help different hair types. There are four heat options (including a ‘cool shot’ and an ‘always cool’ setting). There are also three airflow options and three magnetic styling attachments (a styling concentrator, smoothing nozzle and diffuser). Each helping to further control airflow and style different types of hair.
A unique motor
The Dyson digital motor V9 is more powerful than traditional motors. It’s 13-blade impeller spins at up to 110,000rpm generating 3.5Pa of pressure and propelling 13 litres of air up to the amplifier every second. Weighing less than a traditional dryer, the motor for the Dyson digital motor also sits in the head (rather than the handle) of the dryer making it more ergonomic.
