Habtoor Grand review Exterior (Day)

Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection located within walking distance of the Jumeirah Beach Residence and the new restaurant area The Beach is a staycation not to be missed.

THE LOWDOWN

Habtoor Grand review

While located within a cluster of five-star hotels, Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection can keep up with the big boys. It’s a hotel that offers both quiet relaxing times and, if you feel like socialising without leaving its grounds, well you can do that to with gusto as it boasts an array of bars and restaurants to cater to your holiday needs.

Upon walking in the grand circular lobby, where the hotel splits into two towers, you are greeted by the sweet smell of jasmine. The lobby then leads onto the green lush grounds where you will find neatly hidden tennis courts, a pool (the beach is a small walk away) and a series of restaurants (Al Manara restaurant the ideal for sundowners) – well it’s not called grand for no reason.

SUITE LIFE

Habtoor Grand review

Spacious and chic with a nod to Islamic design. When it comes to rooms with a view you get what you pay for here with unbeatable vistas of the Arabian Gulf and the hotel’s lush gardens.

The suites are spacious and the chaise lounge by the huge window is perfect for an afternoon snooze. A vast area has been given to the bathroom, which boasts a huge bath – perfect for two – as well as stand up rain shower (we could’ve spent hours under it).

In-room amenities include your usual mod-cons with a few extra treats – complimentary fruit and mineral water, thick white robes and a kings size bed with fluffy soft pillows for a great night sleep.

STYLISH EATS

Luciano's

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Al Dhiyafa Grand kitchen serves dishes from around the world. We ordered the freshly baked bread and a made-to-order omelettes for breakfast, which set us up for the day.

Luciano’s Italian restaurant by the pool is quite plain from the outside but once inside you’re transported to a time when the Mafia ran New York – the venue is actually named after former crime boss Charles ‘Lucky’ Luciano. Though fear not, there’s no underworld dealings here.

While waiting for your meal you can read all about the mob as their dealings are documented in old black and white photos on the wall. The menu is creative and modern but not missing the classic Italian recipes. We recommend you order the succulent fleshy lobster and scallops. This is definitely one of Habtoor’s hidden gems.

WELLBEING

Habtoor Grand review

On the same level as the well-equipped gym is Elixir Spa. Allocate time to give into the luxury of being pampered from head-to-toe. With a range of treatments from body wraps, massages and facials to separate men’s and women’s lounges, it offer the perfect way to end a day at the beach or start your evening.
