“My anchor, my home, the creator of my existence.”
Gigi and Bella Hadid have both been pretty busy of late, between the Met Gala in New York and the red carpets of Cannes.
While we’re copying their surprisingly affordable makeup looks and swooning over their Dior gowns, though, the half-Palestinian supermodel sisters have been paying tribute to their mum, Yolanda Hadid.

Mother’s Day was celebrated on Sunday in the USA, and both Bella and Gigi shared some sweet throwback pictures on Instagram along with messages of love for their mum.
“Happy Mother’s Day to the greatest,” Gigi wrote in the caption of this black and white shot.
“We love you more than words could ever say. You are everything!”
For her part, Bella shared a quotation from Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh.
“Each time my feet touched the earth I knew my mother was there with me. I knew this body was not mine but a living continuation of my mother and my father and my grandparents and great-grandparents,” it reads.
“Of all my ancestors. Those feet that I saw as ‘my’ feet were actually ‘our’ feet. Together my mother and I were leaving footprints in the damp soil.”
Then in her own words, the 21-year-old said thank you to mothers around the world.
“To all the moms, grandmamas, and the women who have stepped up to be… we appreciate and love you,” she wrote. “Happy Mother’s Day to my queen, my anchor, my home, the creator of my existence.”
Youngest sibling Anwar also sent Yolanda his love, saying she is the “best mom I could have ever asked for.”
“Thank you for being you and holding it down always.”
We’d bet Yolanda is feeling pretty loved right now.
