If cage diving isn’t quite extreme enough, you can now get up close and personal with the sharks at Dubai Aquarium on a motorised, personal, mini-submarine.

The self-contained scoot-mobile, or ‘Shark Scooter’ as it’s been nicknamed, allows you to whizz around the water, bringing you face-to-face with some of the world’s most notorious predators and the rest of the aquarium’s marine life.

The experience comes as part of Dubai Aquarium’s conservation programme which aims to dispel some of the stereotypes surrounding sharks, while educating and raising awareness of their importance in the wild.

Throughout your dive, you’ll be guided around the aquarium by an instructor from Al Boom, zooming around at a three kilometres per hour.

Riders have to be aged 10 and above and at least 150cm tall, as any height below that may be mistaken for a tasty snack by the sharks (just kidding).

If you’re too scared to ride alone, double scooters are also available.
