If you think the gorgeous models that strut down the runway are simply blessed with good genes, think again. These long-legged beauties may have had a natural helping hand but all the rest is down to hard work.

Good diet and fitness is a full time job for models. While they may be lucky enough to have natural good looks, but they’ve also had to work hard to maintain it. Here we share the Fashion Week diet and fitness tips by five supermodels themselves.

Kendall ‘the body’ Jenner

Her workout: While the 19 year old does have her age on her side, she also workouts hard completing four sessions a week. “I do whatever [my trainer] tells me to do,” she says. “’Some cardio, some muscle-building to tone myself up.” The model varies her workouts balancing high intensity cardio with core work. She adds: “’I’ll run to a gym and get on the treadmill; I [also] do a lot of ab work and planking.”

One of Kendall’s regular food posts. We’re sure she just picked off the avocado.

Her diet: If the WineNDine app is anything to go by you would be forgiven for thinking Kendall’ diet is all about pizza, pasta and desserts. However, she admits her consumption is far more simple following “a clean diet with loads of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins.” She also swears by detox tea. “I usually start my day off with a cup of detox tea,” she says. “I have like 12 cups a day.”

Gigi is a huge boxing fan

Her workout: A former volleyball player – she played for 12 years – who has ridden horses her entire life, Gigi is a fan of an active lifestyle. She boxes everyday with former pro fighter Rob Piela, insisting: “We start with jump rope – there’s no better way to slim down legs… and we end with ballet-inspired floor exercises. . . .In the middle, we box.” Rob trains with the three-to-one boxing ratio in mind –three minutes of sparring in the ring balanced with one minute of core-strengthening exercises.

Candice Swanepoel

Her workout: With an ectomorph body type, Candice says she has to eat more in order to keep up with a physical regimen. She works out three tiems a week, or everyday leading up to a Victoria’s Secret show. Her favourite workout is boxing but when she doesn’t have time she does yoga to stay flexible and keep her mind quiet.

She favours slow movements that build strength. She says: “A lot of people just want to do their workouts quickly, and it doesn’t work. The workouts I do, I feel each muscle that I’m working. Because I’ve been working out so many years, it’s a machine that I know, so my trainer will be like: ‘OK, we’re gonna work out this part,’  so I know the angles and the way I need to do it.”

Her diet: Luckily for Candice, her body craves good, clean food. She insists: “If I eat something that’s not fresh, I feel it immediately, so I crave good food. I crave meat. I grew up on a dairy and beef farm, so I crave that. I don’t cut anything out, and I just work out more.”

Her diet: Steering away from her Midwestern roots (which is stereotypically less healthy) she has cut down on sugar and consumes lots of vegetables. “I stopped eating Goldfish and Oreos [when I was a teen] and started eating kale salads and avocado toast,” she said. “It changed my energy. I realised, OK, how I eat affects how I feel.” She now eats a diet of mainly clean foods. Her celeb trainer: Traci Copeland and Justin Gelband.

Her diet: The 27-year-old Puerto Rican model claims she doesn’t diet, but she does eat healthily – think scrambled eggs for breakfast and chicken for lunch as well as lots of vegetables. Sweets were her weakness but she has cut back, eating more fruit and veg instead.
