Supporting local artisans.

L’atelier Nawbar has been creating contemporary jewellery with a traditional twist since 2011 and recently showed at Paris Fashion Week.

What makes the brand unique? Lebanese sisters Dima and Tania Nawbar are fourth generation jewellers who give back to the community by enlisting local artisans and training socially disadvantaged and displaced women in handmade craft.

Jewellery making is in the sisters’ blood thanks to their great-great-grandfather who started their family-run business in the gold souk of Beirut in 1881.

Fast forward to 2011, L’atelier Nawbar was born to bring a modern eye to traditional craftsmanship. Not only that, but the design duo created an innovative concept of a contemporary art gallery combined with a jewellery boutique and workshop in Beirut giving a 360 vision of the brand.

One of their latest lines takes inspiration from “chakras and cosmetology”, offering 18kt yellow gold pieces influenced by the Zodiac and constellations. The best part? Some of the rings and pendants are reversible so you can flip the design to suit your mood.

If you fancy injecting a little bit of brightness to your jewellery box, then dive into their Amulets of Light collection that brings together all the colours of the rainbow to rings, bracelets and necklaces as well as transparency that lets the sunlight shine through and reflect on your skin.
