With the launch rumoured to be just a couple of months away, here’s the lowdown on the brand’s first base.
It’s got the eyes, lips and lashes down, and now Huda Beauty is going to help us really lay the base for a good face.
That’s right, the Dubai-based beauty brand by makeup-artist-turned-entrepreneur Huda Kattan is working on its first foundation.
We told you about the new line earlier this year, but Kattan’s since spilled some more details ahead of its launch in just a few months.
Here’s what you need to know…
It’s going to be called Faux Filter
So we’re guessing it’ll give you that flawless Instagram finish, but in real life.
It’s all set to launch in October, according to reports
But sneak previews have already been given to those in the know, like Allure magazine’s beauty editor.
It’s billed as super full coverage
According to Kattan’s Instagram Stories, but the beauty entrepreneur promises it also looks like real skin. And judging by one of her most recent snaps, we’d agree.
See how it evens out her skin tone and texture, but without looking cakey? That’s no mean feat.
It’ll launch in 30 dessert-named shades
And there’ll also be a Huda Beauty foundation brush sold separately.
This is the packaging
It’s got a pump dispenser, hurrah!
Obsessing over the foundation already even before it has officially launched!! Watch out guys, @hudabeauty FIRST FOUNDATION will be breaking barriers, records and the internet. That’s already apparent from the marketing and advertising. I grow to admire and adore this women even more with every launch especially with the charisma to cater to all the issues we women face with our skin. There’s going to be 30 shades and I am so excited to review and use this! @monakattan @alyakattan @silverfox08 #lovemakeup #beauty #lovebeauty #makeup #makeupartist #makeupaddict #makeupjunkie #makeupporn #makeuphaul #makeuplife #slay #makeupreview #slayying #makeupblog #mua #new #artist #makeuptutorial #makeupaddicts #makeupmess #instablogger #bloggeruk #sadiyyareview #hudabeauty #hudabeautyfoundation #hudabeautyfauxfilter #wakeupandmakeup #nailart #lovehuda #shophudabeauty
Coming up with a formula wasn’t a quick process
“Foundations are the hardest project I’ve done to date!” Kattan said in an Instagram video earlier this year.
“Colour matching for foundation is like the hardest thing I think I’ve ever done for beauty. I was doing fractions trying to find the percentage of people who have redness in their skin,” she also told Racked.
It’ll cost $40 in the US
There’s no word yet on what the official UAE price is, but the State-side version works out at Dhs147.
And she’s also created a primer to be used with Faux Filter
According to the Daily Mail, the Vagisil-inspired base will launch at the same time as the foundation.
