“Every day should be Earth Day.”
We only get the one planet, so it makes sense that there’s a day dedicated to making it a priority.
Earth Day falls on April 22 each year, and this year it’d dedicated to reducing plastic pollution. Single-use plastics in particular are clogging our oceans and harming marine life, so we’re fully on board with that message.
And so too are a few big names from our part of the world. Read on for how some of the region’s stars marked Earth Day this year.

HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein
HRH Princess Haya, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE, shared this lovely collection of pictures on Instagram.
There’s little Sheikh Zayed and his big sister, Sheikha Al Jalila, having dinner al fresco in a teepee they’ve made themselves. Adorable.
Gigi Hadid
Birthday girl Gigi Hadid shared this selection of nature shots on her account.
“Every year, the day before my bday is Earth Day- and I’m still just a lil Taurus girl who finds so much happiness, contentment, and inspiration when I take a minute in nature and look around,” the half-Palestinian supermodel wrote.
“May we celebrate Mother Earth every day for all she gives and teaches us.”
Kenza Fourati
Much like HRH Princess Haya, Tunisian model Kenza Fourati shared some family time on Earth Day.
Alongside what looks to be an apricot orchard and an image of her daughter and father, Fourati wrote that “every day should be #EarthDay.”
Nora Attal
British Moroccan model Nora Attal — one of the breakout stars of 2017 — shared this sunset shot with a simple caption.
“Happy Earth Day — hashtag no filter,” the young star wrote.
