It won’t help you walk away from Sephora without spending your life savings, but what will?

We love The Dubai Mall, but there’s no denying it’s a little overwhelming. For jetlagged newcomers, it’s a maze, and even the most seasoned shoppers will sometimes realise they took a wrong turn at Zara.

So with that in mind, we have some great news for you. The Downtown shopping spot has released a new way-finding system on its app – it’s basically Google Maps, but mall-specific.

Between this and the mall’s excellent free wifi, we’re thinking the 5.9-million-square-foot space just got a lot more manageable. Did you know you can even charge your phone there? Incredible.

The app can also update you on sales and special offers from your favourite stores, but we’re thinking the map service is an excellent addition. It’s free on iOS and Android.

Malls around the city are doing their best to make shopping easier – the Mall of the Emirates recently introduced a hands-free service where you can either leave your bags at a collection point while you keep wandering, or get them delivered to your apartment.

“At Mall of the Emirates we continuously adopt unique and innovative services that increases customer convenience and transforms the way people shop. Hands Free Shopping revolutionises the traditional shopping journey and is aligned with our vision to create great moments for everyone, everyday,” said the mall’s director, Hussain Moosa, when the service was made permanent in June.

Dubai Mall is bigger again than Mall of the Emirates, with 1,200 stores compared to 630, so this latest feature should be a huge plus.
