The duo were happy to be presenting their first show in the region. Speaking at a preshow event, Domenico Dolce said that he loved Middle Eastern women, and their looks reminded him of women from his hometown of Polizzi Generosa in Sicily: ““the Middle Eastern woman is similar to the Siciilian woman, she is beautiful, loves a dark eye liner and has style,” he said.

More than 120 looks were showcased at the event, with more than half the couture looks being exclusively created for the Middle Eastern market.

In recent years the fashion house has refocused its attention on the Middle Eastern market, with a range of abbyas and longer dresses.

The modest fashion trend played heavily in the collection, with mosaic and beadwork abbyas featuring in the show. Other Middle Eastern references included arabesque patterns included in some of the designs.
