Anything is possible at Paris Couture Week

Last week, the select few brands with haute couture status, and those invited got to display some of their best work at Paris Haute Couture Week. There is nothing quite as spectacular as couture, as each piece takes hundreds of hours, and requires had sewing to be complete. To help bring the pieces to life, the beauty looks on the runway has to be out of the world, and last week was no exception.

Beauty took center stage at couture week, as each brand went all out on hair and makeup to highlight, and often add to the bizarreness of the pieces on the catwalk . Here are some of our favourite beauty looks from couture week:

Susanne Knipper did not hold back, when it came to the beauty look for the show. The hair and makeup gave off a romantic vibe, with bold and bright eyeshadow, and flowers plastered around the face.

Creative And Image Director of Christian Dior Make-up, Peter Philips embraced the show’s circus theme, transforming the models into clowns and mimes, with bold eyeliner, which gave off a punk aesthetic.

While the gowns brought Celine Dion to tears, Pat McGrath  brought the drama. The show featured feather-embellished eyelashes, and glittery floral face paint.

For the Chanel show, the models strutted down the runway with dark and dramatic eye makeup, bold red lips, and an 80s hair-do inspired by the legendary David Bowie.

For the show, Martin Cullen got experimental with the tip-dye trend. The models walked down the runway in overgrown, tip-dyed fringes – highlighting the brands futuristic designs.
