Adriana Lima Is Face Of Marc Jacobs Fragrance, Decadence
Well we already want to look like her, and now, thanks to Marc Jacobs we can smell like her as the designer names Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima as the face of his new fragrance, Decadence.
As well as taking to social media to announce the exciting news, the Brazilian model also marked her new partnership with the American designer by wearing one of his stunning gowns to Monday’s China-inspired Met Gala. The supermodel completed the look with a array of dazzling Chopard jewels. She also ditched her usual beachy waves in favour of a blunt new fringe and poker-straight locks – a nod to a trend seen on Marc Jacobs’s catwalks.
Renowned for her role as an Angel, the 33-year-old, mum-of-two may initially seem like an odd choice for Jacobs, whose previous perfume campaigns have focused on the dreamy and the whimsical, particularly the Daisy range of perfumes. However, with Decadence, which hits the shelves in September, being described as exotic and sophisticated, it appears Adriana Lima is the perfect match.
The partnership is just one of many lucrative contracts for the beauty, who was last year named by Forbes as the second highest-paid supermodel in the world with earnings of US$8million.
As well as being one of the lead models for lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret (she became an Angel in 2000), Adriana has also worked for powerful, international fashion and beauty brands including Maybelline, Donna Karan, Armani, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Desigual.
Adriana’s lucrative career began when she was 15 after wining the Ford’s Supermodel of Brazil model search. From there she entered the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest and finished in second place. Three years later, she left Brazil and headed to the bright lights of New york where she rapidly signed up with Elite Model Management and acquired big catwalk jobs with Vera Wang, Giorgio Armani and Valentino and also nailed cover spots with Vogue and Marie Claire.
