Abu Dhabi Desert Gets Starring Role In New Givenchy Campaign
When you need a hot new backdrop for a high-fashion campaign, you really can’t get hotter than the middle of the desert.
Givenchy certainly agreed, as the luxury French fashion house settled on Abu Dhabi as the location for a new fragrance commercial.
To celebrate the relaunch of Dahlia Divin Le Nectar, the brand captured Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel strolling among the UAE’s sandy climes and exploring the staircase of an isolated tower.
Set to a remix of Blondie’s Heart of Glass, the South African model shows off a cream-and-gold halter neck gown, gold-flaked feet and – most impressively – not a drop of sweat as she explores the UAE’s rolling dunes.
As the camera pans out, the impressive tower turns out to be built (mostly with the help of CGI) in the shape of Givenchy’s famous G logo.
The campaign was shot by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, overseen by Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci, and styled by former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld.
