Ok, now we’re even more excited to see this…
If you haven’t read Crazy Rich Asians yet, do yourself a favour and place an order on Book Depository right away. The hilarious debut novel by Kevin Kwan hits the big screen in August, and is shaping up to be the must-see film of the summer.
And now we have another reason to check it out, with the news that Dubai designer Michael Cinco, who has dressed everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Mariah Carey, has contributed to the film’s ultra-glamorous wardrobe.
The celebrated designer shared a photo of actress Kris Aquino, who makes a cameo in the film as Princess Intan, during her scene with Constance Wu (who stars as Rachel Chu).
“The elegant Filipina actress KRIS AQUINO is an epitome of class and sophistication as Princess Intan wearing a couture Michael Cinco yellow calado-inspired fully embroidered gown,” he captioned the photo.
Cinco earlier revealed the star had sent him a personal thank you note when she received the gown, and praised her for being “genuinely nice and humble”.
Last month, Aquino shared a first-look of the scene, giving her fellow countryman a special shout-out.
“My gown was created by our very own @michael5inco,” Aquino wrote.
Crazy Rich Asians had its Hollywood premiere on August 7 (and will be in UAE cinemas on August 16). Aquino once again represented the Philippines on the red carpet, wearing a stunning yellow gown by young designer Michael Levya.
The movie is the first Hollywood studio production in 25 years to feature an all-Asian cast.
