The weekend is finally here, and we’re going to make the most of it with late-night brunches, spooky plays and weird and wonderful beauty treatments.

Tuck into some classic American fare

big daddy's dubai

If you’re a fun of hearty diner-style grub, ’80s-themed New York eatery Big Daddy’s has set up shop in Burjuman to offer you just that. Expect giant shakes, fluffy pancakes, burgers, buffalo wings and all-day breakfasts (plus a super retro soundtrack playing in the background).

Have a facial with a twist

panpuri facial review,

Well, it’s almost Halloween, so what better time to try something out of the ordinary? Vaniday’s Platinum Ladies Salon currently offers an intriguing treatment using snail slime… but don’t let that put you off. The stuff is packed with nutrients and ingredients to stimulate skin regeneration, so just sit back, enjoy the pamper (and forget what it’s made of). The Snail Secretion Regenerating Facial costs Dhs200 (and Vaniday has just launched a new loyalty programme where you get 20 per cent cashback when you book online).

Vaniday, Unit S10, Emirates Crew Building H-1, Street 2-B, Al Mina Road, Dubai. Tel: (04) 327 7277. vaniday.ae.

See some adrenaline junkies do their thing

dubai marina

It’s the first time the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series has come to the UAE, and you can see all the action live at Dubai Marina tonight. With 16 plucky divers throwing themselves off Pier 7 (at speeds of 85 kilometres per hours no less) in a bid to be crowned champion, this sure isn’t something you’d see every day.

Pier 7, Dubai Marina, Dubai, 8pm, free. Tel: (04) 4361020. redbullcliffdiving.com

Saturday 29

Take a free yoga or pilates class

Life'n One

In celebration of wellbeing centre Life’n One’s birthday, they’re hosting a ‘Wellness Weekend’ over Friday and Saturday. Here you’ll find an artisan market, free yoga and pilates classes, and organic food, along with inspirational mind and body talks on the hour, every hour.

Celebrate the spookiest time of year

dracula

Forget red syrup-soaked costumes – why not mark Halloween in a different way this year? You’ll still get chills and thrills, but a bit of culture too, when the award-winning Danú Group put on a performance of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Centrepoint Theatre, DUCTAC, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, shows at 3pm and 7.30pm. Tickets from Dhs60 to Dhs150. Click here to buy.
