Stop by Charlotte Tilbury’s new store

We started saving our dirhams the minute we heard Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Wonderland was coming to The Dubai Mall, and now it’s finally here. The store is a place of wonder – expect crimson velvet sofas, ornate art-deco light fittings and old Hollywood-style vanity tables, plus a Magic Mirror that actually morphs your face into Charlotte’s 10 iconic looks. We’re in love.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Dubai Beauty Wonderland, ground floor (near the Dubai Aquarium), The Dubai Mall. Daily 10am to midnight. Tel: (04) 362 7500. thedubaimall.com

Head to a chilled-out concert

Legendary singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega is playing a one-off show at Dubai Opera tonight. Widely regarded as one of the best songwriters of her generation, the artist emerged as a leading figure in the folk-music revival of the early 1980s. She’s best known for her catchy hit Tom’s Diner, which was later covered by Britney Spears.

Make time for a tea party

Tania’s Teahouse is officially the prettiest cafe we’ve ever encountered, and over the next two months they’re giving us another excuse to take refuge from the heat inside its millennial pink walls. With any main menu item ordered, you’ll receive a free iced tea (complete with Instagrammable edible flowers within the ice cubes), in refreshing flavours like cherry blossom, lavender lolapalooza and strawberry tea-wi.

Tania’s Teahouse, Villa 779A, Jumeirah Beach Road. Sun to Wed 8am to 10pm, Thurs 8am to midnight, Fri & Sat 9am to midnight. Tel: (04) 324 0021. @TaniasTeahouse
